Funeral rites have been held for the 14 civilians killed at an Indo-Myanmar border district in Nagaland after a counter-insurgency operation that went horribly wrong. The state police has alleged in its FIR against the Army unit alleging that the 21 Para Special forces of Army "blankly opened fire" resulting in the killing of many villagers in Mon district of Nagaland near Assam border. It further alleged that the "intention" of security forces was to "murder and injure civilians". The Nagaland Chief Minister, the Deputy Chief Minister and as well as ex-Chief Minister TR Zeliang have attended the funeral.
