Nagpur: "We Have No Involvement...": Accused Ayaz Khan's Brother Alleges Illegal Demolition By NMC
Ayaz Khan, brother of Yusuf, an accused in Nagpur riots on March 24 has blamed the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) of illegally demolishing his house. Ayaz has claimed that he has all the legal documents.He said, "This has been done with the intention of taking revenge. We have no involvement in the riots. I am the owner of the property; we have this property since 1970. We are law-abiding people. On Saturday, when it was a holiday, NMC (Nagpur Municipal Corporation) people came and forcibly handed us a notice. When I told them about the document that everything is sanctioned, they asked me to give these documents at the NMC office. When we went there, they refused to take details from us and said it is a holiday... When we reached there today, they had already issued the demolition order... Today, when the court heard our petition, the court reprimanded the NMC. The court has stayed this illegal demolition. We have suffered losses due to the NMC..."
