NASA's Sunita Williams & Butch Wilmore Paycheck: Just $4 Extra Per Day After 9 Months In Space| NDTV

Sunita Williams | NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore were supposed to be in space for just a week. Instead, they spent nearly nine months aboard the International Space Station after Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft faced technical issues. Now, a SpaceX Crew Dragon is finally set to bring them home. Despite the extended mission, NASA astronauts don’t earn overtime, just their regular salary. Former astronaut Cady Coleman recently revealed that NASA provides only a tiny daily allowance for incidentals, just around 4 dollars a day! With their long stay, they’ll receive between $94,998 and $123,152, plus a mere $1,148 in incidentals—just $4 a day! With Crew Dragon set to undock on March 18, their historic mission will be remembered as the longest first crewed flight of any spacecraft. NDTV's Riddhima Kedia brings you more on this.
