Rakibul Hussain achieved a landmark victory in the Dhubri constituency in the Lok Sabha elections, securing one of the largest margins of victory. He garnered 14,71,885 votes, significantly surpassing the runner-up, Md. Badruddin of the All-India United Democratic Front, who received 4,59,409 votes. In an exclusive interview with NDTV's Ratnadip Choudhury, Hussain claimed that his victory was not just over Ajmal but also an indirect defeat of Assam's Chief Minister, whom he accused of tacitly supporting Ajmal.
