NDTV extends help to tsunami victims
Moved by the large-scale destruction caused to life and property by the Tsunami, NDTV viewers had contributed funds in association with HelpAge India to set up Tamaraikulam Elder's village in Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu. This village has now brought back smiles to hundreds of elderly destitutes.
Life begins at 60 at least for these elders. Many became homeless overnight as the tsunami struck the coast of south India in December 2004 and some have been abandoned by their families.
