The bypoll in Munugode, which is being called by many as India's most expensive, was forced by the resignation of a Congress MLA who joined the BJP. A big campaign has been mounted against Komatireddy Rajagopal who became the BJP candidate saying he quit the Congress and switched to the BJP as a quid pro quo for getting a Rs 18,000 crore Central government contract.
