One of the key reasons the government has so strongly pushed Aadhaar is to ensure that the pilfirage that took place in the public distribution system was eliminated. That has succeeded in many areas but the problem is there are still a large number of people who are not getting access to rations because the system isn't working. As Sukirti Dwvedi now reports, in the national capital thousands of people can't get rations because the Aadhaar biometric machines are either not recognising their prints, or just not working because the internet connection is slow.
