On Left, Right and Centre, we speak to Nawab Malik of NCP and Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant on how important preparedness is when it comes to cyclones and what lessons have been learnt from the previous cyclones that have ripped through India. "We were prepared but we are thankful that the situation is different. When an earthquake hit Gujarat, the design of buildings in Mumbai was changed. If this is a continuous process, we will have to prepare accordingly," Nawab Malik said. "Over 46,000 were shifted to a safer place by disaster management team of Mumbai. If Mumbai would have been hit by 120 kmph winds, definitely damage would have been more," he said. Shiv Sena's Arvind Sawant said, "Please do not forget, Mumbai is a city with small area and high population. Government has to have a dedicated committee to look after all these unprecedented and unexpected calamities."
