The Delhi government has requested the centre to allow artificial rain to bring down the toxic pollution levels in the National Capital Region (NCR) while accusing it of ignoring its earlier requests.
Schools have been shut down and constructions banned to prevent a rise in pollution that poses a serious health threat to crores of residents of the National Capital Region (NCR). And to bring down the pollution level, the Delhi government is exploring options like artificial rain.
Rain can be induced artificially by the process of cloud seeding, which experts believe will wash away pollutants from the atmosphere.
Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said he has written multiple letters to Bhupendra Yadav, the Union Environment Minister for an emergency meeting to tackle the issue, but there was no action.
