Dr Arvind Virmani, a non-resident fellow with Brooking Institute, says global economy is weak and despite talks about reversing quantitative easing, he does not expect them to be reversed quickly, not this year at least. Dr Virmani says what is worrying for India is a high substantial current account deficit. He feels if policymakers focus on the issues that lead to the high deficit, there is no need to worry about any impact on liquidity or our markets from a possible QE reversal.
