On reports that the third wave of coronavirus will likely hit children harder, AIIMS director Dr Randeep Guleria said the concern is that if you start looking at those who have been affected till now, children are the ones who have been protected as schools have been closed and they are not going out. "When we have another wave, they will be more susceptible and get the illness more than others who may have some immunity. We need to look at data and quickly get vaccines that are approved or get trials done for children also, and quickly start rolling it out for those less than 18 years," he said. We have to look at vaccinating children in the coming months, the AIIMS chief said.
