Nerves: Manipur's experimental theatre
Earlier this week, Manipur saw a political truce. After 600 long days, there was an agreement between the state government and Kuki families in Churachandpur to bury the bodies of eight young men who were shot dead in a land protest. The endemic violence in the state finds expression in a contemporary dance troupe from Manipur, whose performance "Nerves" reflects the troubled experience of a turbulent state and its people.
