In the third set of announcement, the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announces several schemes for agriculture and allied activities such as dairy, animal husbandry and fisheries as part of the 20 lakh crore economy booster. The government will also bring in a law to give farmers the choice to sell their produce anywhere and get the price they want. Professor Ramesh Chand, a member of the NITI Aayog, says "today's announcements are historical for Indian farmers and agriculture. It will give farmers the freedom they did not have and will open the entire country to them."
