The UK finally has a new Prime Minister. Liz Truss will take over from Boris Johnson. After weeks of a bitterly contested election, she defeated Rishi Sunak in a conservative party vote. Rishi Sunak was the overwhelming favourite among Tory party MPs to become Prime Minister, but it's among the wider Conservative party members that he lost out. Most of the over 1 lakh 70 thousand Tory members who voted are older, white men. So, was race the primary factor that went against Sunak? Or was there more to it?
