How India Plans To Detect, Contain New Virus Variant

Amid global fears over the new strain of coronavirus that was first found in the United Kingdom, the government has set up genomic surveillance consortium. Five per cent of the total samples that have been detected positive in India since November 23 will be sent for genome sequencing.
