Newborn Diagnosed With Covid Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome
In Andhra Pradesh's Vijaywada hospital, a newborn was diagnosed with COVID-19 multisystem inflammatory syndrome and rare skin lesions. The baby was admitted on the seventh day after birth with high fever. Chief of children's services and Director, Andhra Hospitals, Dr PV Rama Rao tells NDTV this is possibly the first such case in world and the baby is doing better after treatment. While the baby and mother tested negative for Covid, they tested positive for antibodies, indicating transplacental transmission.
