Israel will impose a another national lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus, with tough restrictions coming into effect on the Jewish new year. The country's second lockdown begins on Friday and lasts at least three weeks. This comes after Israel saw a repeated daily spike of over 4,000 cases daily for a few days. Israelis reacted with anger and dismay at the imminent nationwide lockdown. We spoke with Dr Ron Malka, Israel's ambassador to India, on the lockdown, vaccine development and India and Israel's partnership for developing Covid tests.
