Nirmala Sitharaman Announces Benefit Schemes For Girls, Women
Finance Nirmala Sitharaman announced that the Union Budget 2024-25 carries an allocation of more than Rs 3 lakh crore for schemes benefitting women and girls and promoting women-led development. In her opening statements, she said four 'castes' are the focus of this budget; they are women, poor, farmers, and youth.
She also said that working women's hostels would be set up in the country to promote women's participation in the workforce.
