Nirmala Sitharaman Says Article 370 Has Been A Commitment Of BJP Since Jan Sangh
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman defended the Centre's move on scrapping of Article 370 and countered Congress leader Kapil Sibal's allegations that the move was without any consultation. Ms Sitharaman said the idea of "one Constitution" has long been one of the core beliefs of the BJP and they had also mentioned it in their manifesto ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. She also said that Syama Prasad Mookerjee lost his life all in the name of wanting to keep one Constitution.
