Union Minster Nirmala Sitharaman said 31 people have died in four districts of Tamil Nadu due to heavy rainfall. The Centre has released Rs 900 crore in two installments to Tamil Nadu to be used in this financial year, she said, refuting Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, who blamed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for failing to forecast heavy rains in the four southern districts.
