After Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today ended the alliance between his Janata Dal (United) and the BJP, opposition parties scrambled to discuss the future course of action amid the massive political upheaval. All eyes are now on numbers in the state assembly, which favour Mr Kumar if he gets back with Tejashwi Yadav-led Rashtriya Janata Dal. JDU has 45 legislators in the 243-member strong assembly, while the BJP has 77. The majority mark is 122. Tejashwi Yadav-led Rashtriya Janata Dal, at 79, has the most MLAs.
