A massive controversy has erupted over Bihar chief minster Nitish Kumar's comments in the Bihar assembly. The Chief Minster was explaining the role of women's education in birth control, but then using gestures and descriptive language, he highlighted how an educated married woman can influence her husband to prevent pregnancy. He's now facing a massive backlash. His use of language was slammed as "shameful", "disgusting" and "vulgar" by the BJP and there were demonstrations in Patna against him. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also launched a scathing attack against Nitish Kumar, saying the leaders of the INDIA bloc insulted India before the world. Nitish Kumar has apologised for his comments, saying he never intended to offend anyone and that he stood for women empowerment.
