The Delhi High Court's decision to quash 60 per cent quota for children of Group-A civil officers in Delhi's Sanskriti School has stirred a massive debate over reservation system in schools. The High court said that equality in education is only possible through a Common School System and went as far as to compare IAS quota to segregation. While many defend the quota saying that the school was started to help Civil Services Officers, having transferrable jobs and those who find it difficult to admit their children in elite schools. On Agenda, we ask if it is fair to have elite schools? And is the High Court right in knocking down elite quota in Sanskriti School?
