No Official Bungalows For Ex-UP Chief Ministers Now
The Supreme Court today made it clear that those former Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh who have continued to stay on in their official residences are no longer welcome there. They have, in fact, been shown the door with the court making it clear that once their term ended they are like any other citizen. So from Mayawati to Akhlilesh Yadav, from Mulayam Singh Yadav to Rajnath Singh - all will have to vacate their homes. This is a strong message against India's VIP culture. Will this verdict go a long way in ending the us and them divide between normal citizens and our political leaders, many of whom claim to represent the common man and woman but think nothing about hanging on to vestiges of power.
