Muhammad Yunus, Founder, Grameen Bank & Nobel Laureate at the 12-hour #SwasthyaMantra telethon talked about his experience in Bangladesh. He said that after 42 years of Grameen Bank, out of the total nine million borrowers, 97 per cent are women in villages. He explains that these women are illiterate who have never left their villages and yet are good entrepreneurs. 'Once you unleash energy inside the women, the creativity of the women, it touches the entire family, particularly the second generation,' said Mr Yunus.
