Activist Kailash Satyarthi wins the Nobel Prize for peace - his organisation, the Bachpan Bachao Andolan, has worked tirelessly since 1980 to free children from hard labour and ensure their right to an education. But Mr Satyarthi isn't alone, he shares his win with the brave Malala Yusufzai who has become an icon for young girls across the world as she continues her fight for them to go to school, even after surviving Taliban bullets that nearly killed her.
While making the announcement, the Nobel committee has unwittingly brought the subcontinent together at a time when Indian and Pakistani guns blaze across the International Border in Jammu and underscored a simple message that fundamental rights for the world's children know no geographical or political boundaries.
