North East Floods: 23 Dead In Assam, Meghalaya, 17,00 Villages Under Water

At least 23 people were killed in Assam and Meghalaya in past two days due to landslides and heavy downpour even as the weather office has extended the red alert for extremely heavy rain in these two states and Arunachal Pradesh till this weekend. In Assam, over 11 lakh people got affected by flash floods that has hit 22 districts of the state with newly formed Bajali district being worst hit. Over 1,700 villages in the state are inundated. Ratnadip Choudhury reports.
