Dismissing criticism that the Third Front was a group of PM hopefuls, CPM leader Sitaram Yechury said there was nothing wrong with leaders in the group harbouring aspirations for the top post in the country. Speaking on NDTV's special election series Political Roots, Mr Yechury said that the front, comprising 11 parties, was not merely a non-Congress, non- BJP group but one that wanted to provide the country with an alternative policy trajectory, which the two major parties, he claimed, could not offer. Mr Yechury also ruled out supporting the Congress, saying that possibility, to keep the BJP out of power, would not arise.
