'NRC To Protect Demography' vs 'NRC To Polarise'
Union minister and BJP's Jharkhand in-charge Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that his party will implement the National Register of Citizens in Jharkhand if it comes to power in the state in the elections due soon. Mr Chouhan raked up the issue of "demographic change" leading to the reduction in the percentage of tribal population in key areas. He slammed the Hemant Soren-led government for indulging in vote-bank politics. The JMM hit back saying this is the BJP's latest polarising tool. JMM claims that the BJP has no issue hence it is raking up NRC to create division among the people of Jharkhand.
