NTPC eyes stake in Indonesian coal firm
The race to acquire up to 35 per cent in Indonesia's largest coal miner, Bumi Resources, has just got hotter with the country's largest power generator NTPC throwing a hat in the deal. Cash-rich NTPC with over Rs 40,000 crore surplus funds in its kitty is looking to make the most of this opportunity as it desperately needs imported coal to fire its power plants.
