Oil spill damage: Who should pay?
Oil spill from MV Rak Carrier is a reminder that there is a need to fix liability for marine pollution caused by vessels. The brunt is felt by the fishermen along the coast. Maritime experts say the Centre should ratify at the earliest the international maritime treaty that deals with such pollution and spells out compensation claims.
