Two Omicron cases have been detected in India, the government said today. Both the cases have been reported in Karnataka. The new COVID-19 variant was first detected in South Africa in November. The government said there's no need to panic about Omicron detection but "awareness is absolutely essential". Follow Coivd-appropriate behaviour and avoid gatherings, it added.
