On Hijab Question, Chief Election Commissioner Points To "Rules, Cultural Aspects"

"Section 35 under conduct of election rules specifically mentions abut identification of electors. Also, rule 34 mentions about facilities for women electors. Identification will be done as per rules under these two provisions but with full regard and respect to cultural aspect of the entire issue which are prevalent in many states. Like Rajasthan and many, many parts of the country. It will be according to rule position and cultural milieu of that state," said Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar on the question of hijab.
