As the tussle over seats continues between the Congress and the NCP ahead of Assembly elections in Maharashtra, senior leader of the NCP Praful Patel tells NDTV that both parties have one last chance on Tuesday to iron out differences or else the NCP would have to contest the elections alone. On Prithviraj Chavan's claim that he is the chief ministerial candidate for Maharashtra, Mr Patel says the alliance has never projected anybody as a chief ministerial candidate and is not doing so even now. He also speaks on whether tension between Prithviraj Chavan and Ajit Pawar is the real reason for strain in the Congress-NCP ties.
