SpiceJet recently reportedly said it is being audited by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), a claim that the regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation, or DGCA, has denied. Reports say auditing a private airline is the DGCA's task. "First of all, good news is India was at 102 in ICAO's list, in 2018. We have moved today, in 2022, to the 48th position. ICAO judges you on eight parameters. We have seen an increase across all parameters…ICAO does not audit, investigate, certify any airline. ICAO only certifies and audits civil aviation sectors in a particular country," Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia told NDTV. "As far as that report is concerned, whatever needs to be done will be done," Mr Scindia said.
