Nisha Choubisa, an ASHA worker from Rajasthan joined the Banega Swasth India Independence Day special - Saluting Bharat Ki 'ASHA' and talked about how mothers-in-law in her village had more faith in superstitious practices than medical sceince, when it came to their pregnant daughters-in-law. Nisha says that she approached the issue by training the mothers-in-law about how only a healthy mother can give birth to a healthy child and encouraged them to visit the Anganwadi centre for pre-natal care.
