The Congress is voting for its first non-Gandhi chief in over 20 years as Mallikarjun Kharge and Shashi Tharoor face off in the party's internal election. While the Gandhis are not in the contest, Mr Kharge is seen as the 'approved' candidate. "It's [Congress election] is a positive development. Other parties should take encouragement from what we have done," Rajasthan Congress leader Sachin Pilot told NDTV. "It's an open, fair, transparent election. Some 9,000 elected representatives will vote to choose the new Congress President," Mr Pilot said.
