Pa Ranjith's Fight Against Dalit Oppression Through Books
A store with books on oppression by authors from scheduled caste communities was launched in Chennai by well known filmmaker Pa Ranjith to raise awareness and empower the community. Called Neelam Books, the store will also double up as a cultural centre. Actor politician Kamal Haasan inaugurated it on Sunday. NDTV's Sam Daniel caught up with Pa Ranjith on the store, untouchability, his films and plans for political plunge.
