Pak parliament not a rubber stamp: Gilani on winning trust vote
The Zardari government has won a trust vote in Parliament, with its pro-democracy resolution passed by a majority on Monday evening. "Parliament is supreme, responsible and sovereign. I salute the political leadership that has passed this historic resolution," said an animated Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani. The victory was not unexpected-the ruling coalition is in a position of strength in parliament. Outside, less so.
