Panna: Integrating nomadic hunters into mainstream
At the Panna National Park, there has been a unique attempt to integrate the nomadic Bahelia tribe, allegedly notorious for poaching wildlife, into the mainstream. In 2007, a school was set up for children of this community, but experts believe that the cause, though noble, has only spelt more trouble for the tigers. The park has lost all its 34 tigers to poaching.
