Paralympian Deepa Malik says that her quest for an identity inspired her in life. She says, "I had lost my body to paralysis, I didn't want to be known as a sad person or a person who is bringing negativity at home or a person who is considered a liability. I wanted to be just a normal person, a person who could be looked upon as somebody as fit, healthy, someone who is happy and, in that quest, I chose to do a few things, which eventually turned out to be breaking stereotypes. Even joining sports was just an extension of ability before disability journey."
