If one's child comes out as lesbian, gay, bisexual, it may or may not be something one has imagined or is prepared for, but parents' acceptance really matters to their health and safety. It is important that instead of rejecting one's child, one should celebrate their identity. The parents of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBTQ+) teens must remember that each child is unique and will have their own experiences and feelings along the way.
