Speaking on the sidelines of a four-month-long event across India celebrating the partnership between the two countries called 'Bonjour India', French ambassador Alexandre Ziegler spoke to NDTV on a whole range of issues from cooperation on environment, the Paris Accord, Defence, and the Indian Ocean region. The envoy said that the Paris Accord would not have succeeded without India and the country had helped shape the agreement even when some others nations chose to walk out. He was speaking in the run-up to the French President Emmanuelle Macron's visit to India early next year. Emphasising that this was a relationship that was "fast developing and deepening", he said that the president's visit would focus on terror, defence and growing cooperation in the Indian Ocean region.
