At a time when the economy is badly hit and months ahead of elections, the ruling Congress at the Centre as also the coalition partners and the Opposition in the states have embarked on a brazen self-publicity in the media. The party ads are funded by taxpayers' money. Why is there no mechanism to stop the gross misuse of public funds? Why do the parties feel so entitled and see nothing wrong in using public money this way? We discuss.
