Parvesh Verma, son of former Delhi chief minister Sahib Singh Verma, who was sworn-in as a minister in the Rekha Gupta government on Thursday had earlier emerged as a giant-slayer after ending Arvind Kejriwal's supremacy in the New Delhi constituency. The former MP had defeated AAP supremo and former Delhi chief minister in his own bastion by a margin of 4,089 votes when results to the Delhi elections were announced on February 8. On Thursday, as he took oath, Verma credited Prime minister Narendra Modi for BJP's return to power in the national capital after a gap of 27 years.
