Pathribal case hearing: Defining moment for AFSPA debate
In what could be a defining moment for the larger debate around the Armed Forces Special Powers Act in Kashmir, the Supreme Court will today hear the Pathribal case. The decade-old case revolves around an alleged fake encounter in which five villagers were killed by security forces who claimed they were militants responsible for the Chittisingpora massacre.
