Patients face rising healthcare costs
When Ashok Kumar felt pain in his chest three years ago, he didn't realise how serious it was. He was admitted to one of Delhi's best known hospitals - and within a week, had to undergo a bypass surgery. It cost him almost 3 lakh rupees. "The total cost of the operation with tests and my stay in hospital cost me Rs 2.7 lakh. Thankfully I had insurance," he says.
