Patrik Baboumian, Strongman, Powerlifter and Former Bodybuilder joins the NDTV-India Animal Fund Telethon and talks about being on a wholly plant-based diet. He says, “There is not much difference in my diet, at least when it comes to the nutrients. I am still giving my body all the nutrients that I was giving my body before. As a strength athlete, we're consuming usually way too much protein, because it's the building blocks for muscle and we are trying to, you know, have an abundance of that for the body. My main protein sources are mostly legumes and grains. And that's just one word, but really, it's a category of different things like beans, chickpeas, peas, lentils, soy beans, and other soy products like soy milk.”
