Israeli filmmaker Amos Gitai, who was honoured with Excellence in Cinema Award at the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, spoke to NDTV about the 'artistic intolerance' across the world. "It's very important to keep the freedom of filmmakers of a culture. The best thing any artist, filmmaker or writer can do to their own culture is to do critical work. People who really care about a place have an opinion. I salute my friends and colleagues in India and all other countries where there is oppression in a culture," he said.
