"Perhaps, BJP Thought...": Akali Dal Leader On Rift With Ally Over Citizenship Law
Senior Akali Dal leader Harcharan Bains, while speaking to NDTV, confirmed his party's stand on the new citizenship law. "We have maintained our stand of including the Muslims under the ambit of new law. Perhaps BJP thought that our support to Muslims might hurt their poll prospects and hence preferred to go solo in the elections," said Mr Bains, adviser to former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
